Riki Pirihi (Ngāti Wai, Patuharakeke, Ngāti Māhanga), is a composer, and musician, presently residing in Te Whanganui a-Tara. He has recently completed a doctorate with research centred on the cultivation of a unique lexicon termed Rangatuone, which intertwines the principles of Conduction with expressive signs and gestures, tailored specifically for the composition and performance of taonga pūoro alongside Western instruments.

Join Riki as he discusses, brings insight and shares some background, methods, and gestures of conduction.

This workshop coincides with the Pyramid Club Choir - a fortnightly meetup to sing together, open to all.

Bring an instrument or vocal chords at the ready for a group performance!

Special thanks to Creative New Zealand for supporting Pyramid Club's programme
